Linney is our interviewer and she is doing so at a venue where she played recently in one-woman show My Name Is Lucy Barton to great acclaim. My first friend died in 1982 and I killed off Jon Fielding because I wanted to put the horror of AIDS into the middle of it.’ Sometimes I’d be told: ‘I know where you’re going with this story’ and I’d veer away.’Īuthor Neil Gaiman described the first few books as a ‘Trojan horse’ and it’s a comparison Maupin identifies with. ‘It was great having dialogue with my readers. I’d come in late having had fun the night before. ‘Sometimes I’d be writing Wednesday’s column on a Monday. Maupin reminisces about Tales’ origins as a regular column in the San Francisco Chronicle. I loved the material and the experience was just magical.’ I can’t imagine what would have happened if I hadn’t done it. Linney also looks back with affection: ‘ Tales was my first or second job and I was terribly intimidated by film and television. Linney (pictured in the clip from the 1993 1st TV series of Tales), a producer of the new Tales (see clip below), explains that there had been some resistance to Dukakis continuing the role because she is not transgender but excluding her didn’t feel right because of her commitment to the project from the very beginning. He never reached his original destination. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.īasically, when Terah, the father of Abraham (then called Abram), set out for Canaan, he stopped short in a place called Harran and chose to simply settle there. Out of all of the verses in the Bible, Genesis 11:31 is the key verse in both chapter 17 of Joyce’s book and in one of the first few chapters of Andy Stanley’s book. The dragging of my feet in completing this particular book has given me the chance to read this specific chapter at the same time as I was reading another great book entitled, The Principle of the Path, by Andy Stanley. I don’t know why I am so surprised when God brings together different reading topics in my life at the exact time that truly weren’t suppose to be being read in correlation. Someone do it for me I don’t want to take the responsibility. Chapter 17 in Joyce Meyer’s book Battlefield of the Mind is all about the wilderness mentality that says, He even loves their pups! It is pretty impossible to not love these three men. Cooper's high energy, very horny, yet innocent personality and Sawyers calm and cuddly personality are the perfect fit for him. He is drawn to them immediately and it doesn't take long for him to start falling in love. A mistake in an advertisement on social media leads to Sawyer and Cooper emailing him. What they both want more than anything though is a master that can love them both. As you can imagine this makes things a little more difficult but they find ways to allow both of them to get what they need. They stick together no matter what and love one another deeply. In fact I felt the same joy in watching Jackson, Sawyer, and Coopers journey as I did the first time. I am happy to say that I was not disappointed. I loved it then, so when I got the chance to listen to the audible version I was very excited. In fact I have read this series previously. Including this one I have read 30 books by this author so its pretty safe to say I am a fan.

Why do some ideas succeed while others fail? How do we nurture our ideas so they’ll succeed in the world? Many of us struggle with how to communicate ideas effectively, how to get our ideas to make a difference. We are all familiar with the opposite experience-reading an article that we can’t remember five minutes after we have finished, or listening to a lecture that leaves our brain as quickly as it enters. Long after we hear them, we could easily re-tell them. PICHA BOOK CLUB: Made to Stick – Chip Heath & Dan Heath And more than likely, most high school students feel alone at some point.
